A MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT ANN JESSEN:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire Board for their support throughout my two-year Presidency. The Board always worked as a team, to ensure our Branch successfully continued, in spite of the restrictions Covid-19 created. We all learned new ways of communicating i.e., Zoom, and fortunately we had our own in-house expert, Teri, to guide us. My heartfelt thanks to each member for always being ready & able to assist me. I was indeed very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with you.
Congratulations to the new Board.
BOOK SALE: The Book Sale Committee members met on May 27th and decided to move ahead with plans for the 2021 Book Sale. Get your donations ready! Tell your friends and neighbors!
Planning is well underway for what will be a significantly abbreviated project. Each member is encouraged to make an active contribution to this, our only fundraiser. There are tasks that can be done from home for those who aren’t yet ready for a communal activity. Please contact Teri Passarello to volunteer for your choice of assignment.

GREAT DECISIONS: Chair Brigid Coakley, email@example.com Great Decisions 2021 proved that Zoom meetings can be an excellent, flexible alternative to in-person meetings. While we missed the socializing over delicious appetizers and desserts, we managed beautifully, thanks to members showing up and taking over leading the discussions. Thank you all for making this work!! — Brigid
Announcements for Great Decisions 2022 will begin in September, so look carefully in the eBlasts. As always, the book order is placed in October, and meetings begin in January. Anyone interested in being part of respectful, curious, open discussions – hopefully to include everyone from the far right to the far left, and everyone in-between – please email Brigid Coakley at firstname.lastname@example.org before June 30.
RECYCLING CORNER – ENVIRONMENTAL TIPS:
At our May meeting, Becky Hughes shared information about paper receipts from shopping. Most today are thermal printed, coated with a chemical that cannot easily be removed during the recycling process. Shred and trash all, or better yet use an e-receipt. Use gloves if handling a lot of receipts, to avoid contact with the chemical.
